The Greenwood’s, LLC – Privacy Notice & Confidentiality Policy

The Greenwood’s, LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all information obtained during the course of our investigative services. As a licensed California Private Investigator, we are bound by state law (California Business and Professions Code § 7520 et seq.) and professional ethics to safeguard all personal, business, and case-related information entrusted to us.

We will never disclose confidential information to any third party unless:

·       You have provided express written consent,

·       We are required to do so by court order or applicable law, or

·       It is necessary to prevent imminent harm or comply with professional licensing requirements.

2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information, depending on the nature of our engagement:

·       Personal identifiers: Name, address, date of birth, contact details, driver’s license, Social Security number (when lawfully obtained).

·       Case-related information: Statements, photographs, audio/video recordings, reports, surveillance logs, and other investigative materials.

·       Online and device information: IP address, browser type, pages visited (for website visitors).

·       Financial information: Payment details, retainer agreements, and billing history.

·       Public record information: Court filings, property records, and other lawfully accessible public information.

3. How We Use Information
Your information is used solely for:

·       Conducting and completing the investigative services you have requested,

·       Communicating with you regarding your case,

·       Complying with legal and licensing obligations,

·       Managing our internal business operations, and

·       Securing payment and maintaining accurate financial records.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.

4. Disclosure of Information
We may share information only under the following circumstances:

·       With your consent (written authorization is required),

·       With attorneys or other authorized representatives you have designated,

·       With service providers assisting in your investigation (e.g., forensic labs, process servers) who are bound by contractual confidentiality obligations,

·       As required by law (e.g., subpoenas, court orders, statutory obligations).

5. Retention & Security
·       All investigative records are stored securely, either in locked physical storage or encrypted digital systems.

·       Records are retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of the investigation, meet contractual obligations, or comply with legal requirements.

·       At the end of the retention period, records are securely destroyed by shredding, secure deletion, or equivalent methods.

6. Your Privacy Rights Under California Law (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

·       Know what categories of personal information we have collected,

·       Access and request a copy of your personal information (subject to lawful exemptions for active investigations),

·       Request deletion of personal information we hold (unless retention is required by law or for evidentiary purposes),

·       Limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, and

·       Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise these rights, contact us in writing using the information below. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.

7. Professional Confidentiality Notice
All communications, investigative materials, and reports produced by The Greenwood’s, LLC are strictly confidential. Unauthorized possession, reproduction, or distribution of such materials is prohibited. Clients are expected to maintain the confidentiality of any shared reports or findings unless disclosure is necessary for legal proceedings.
